The Hidden Door I moved into this old, run-down apartment a few months ago. It’s cheap, and my friends call it creepy, but it’s all I can afford. One night, I was cleaning out my closet when I noticed the back panel was loose. I pushed on it, and to my surprise, it slid open, revealing a narrow staircase spiraling down. My apartment is on the fourth floor, so why would there be stairs down? Curiosity got the best of me. I grabbed my phone for light, wedged the closet door open, and started down. The air was damp and cold, with a musty smell that only grew stronger as I descended. Finally, I reached a single door with a worn, brass sign reading: “Room 214.”
